Our Mission
Our Mission
Veterans either two years prior or post transition can apply to the Lead Transition Institute (LTI) for their “Changing Focus: Moving From We to Me” program.
The program helps you understand why change is so challenging and how to use your mind to overcome it. You’ll find your purpose and create a vision plan for your future. You’ll learn about living an intentional life. You’ll take communications and financial assessments to better understand your behaviors and habits. Finally, you’ll receive individual resume and LinkedIn profile reviews.
RebootVA partners with the River City Advocacy and Counseling Center in New Braunfels, Texas to provide mental health programs which foster healing, connection, and resilience to our military community.
Veterans Seeking Safety Program
Our Veterans Seeking Safety Program is an evidence-based, present-focus program designed to address both trauma and addiction recovery. Key features include individual sessions, group therapy, and family options. This program is ideal for veterans seeking practical coping skills and strategies to manage PTSD and substance use. We prioritize creating a safe and supportive environment.
Veteran Peer Support Groups
We connect veterans in our peer support groups. These veteran led groups are clinically supported and focused on addressing combat stress, anger management, civilian adjustment, and cultivating hope, sharing experiences, and offering mutual support.
We meet every Wednesday from 5:15 – 6:15PM at RCA, 1614 W San Antonio St in New Braunfels, TX.
Veteran Individual and Family Counseling
We work with licensed trauma-informed counselors offering individual and family counseling services. We provide support for PTSD, anxiety, depression, and suicide prevention. We also offer couples and family therapy, substance use recovery support, and resources to build resilience. Spouses and children of veterans are welcome.
Evidence Based Modalities
We utilize a range of Evidence Based Modalities, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), MI (Motivational Interviewing), Seeking Safety, and Narrative & Solution-focused Therapy. All therapeutic approaches are culturally competent and respectful of military culture.
Not all Veterans are looking to start their own businesses. Not all Veterans want to smoke cigars, drink whiskey, or shoot stuff. There are a large number of Veterans that are nerds – and need a nerd community. RebootVA Retro holds monthly workshops for Veterans that like to hobby and learn about classic and current technology and want to tinker with retro gaming consoles from the ‘70’s to present, as well as computers and programming from those same eras.
RebootVA Retro not only needs financial donations, but we’re in need of hardware / software donations for our lab. We’re specifically looking for any old gaming consoles (see picture of console generations) and computing hardware – ‘80’s 8-bit/16-bit (Commodore, Apple, etc.), ’90’s 32-bit (Amiga, early PC, Early Mac), as well as more modern PC / Mac computers from the 2000’s to present.
Veterans will keep some of the consoles / computers they restore. Other systems will be resold to raise funds for all RebootVA programs.
